The bowl has an extravagant mouth, a deep arc belly, a short ring foot, a gold color on the mouth, a thin body, and a white glaze on the inside and outside.
The bottom of the vessel is marked in seal script with “Made in the Qing Dynasty, Daoguang reign” in red.
The national strength of the Qing Dynasty has changed from prosperity to decline since Qianlong reign, and the development of its porcelain industry has also declined from its peak.
During the Jiaqing and Daoguang reign, the Guan kiln products were indeed inferior to those of the Qianlong reign, but there were also many fine products.
This bowl depicts various flowers and plants, and the chickens are lifelike, which is festive and peaceful.
The inner wall of the bowl is also painted with five bats in pastel, since the Chinese pronunciation of “bat” and “blessing” are the same. Therefore, the flying of five bats represents the arrival of five blessings, which has a beautiful meaning.
